Millenium Office Bearers |

| It has become the established custom for the four East Kilbride Lodges to have annually a joint Divine Service and a joint Reigning Masters Degree, and by coincidence it falls to one Lodge each year to host both. In the Millennium Year this honour fell to Lodge Douglas. The Divine Service took place in the Old Parish Church on Sunday 12th. March 2000 and the Reigning Masters Degree in Douglas Hall on Friday 14th. April 2000. The four Reigning Masters also decided, as a special Millennium celebration, that the four Lodges should hold a joint Millennium Ball. The task of organising this was given to the Junior Wardens of the Lodges and the end result was a highly successful Dinner Dance on Saturday March 25th. in the Ballerup Hall. The hard work of the Junior Wardens was very much appreciated. |

| During the Millennium Year (Thursday 20th. April 2000) as a result of an electrical fault Douglas Hall was slightly damaged by fire. This meant that the last three Lodge Douglas Meetings prior to the recess took place outwith the hall. The first of these was held in Eaglesham where Lodge Eaglesham No. 1265 conferred an E.A. Degree, the next two were held in Kittoch Street, the first of these being a M.M. Degree by Lodge Douglas1557 and the second an F.C. Degree by Lodge St. Andrew No. 524. It should be noted that apart from Installations this was the first time Lodge Douglas had held meetings in any other premises. Our thanks go to the Brethren of Lodge Eaglesham No. 1265 and Lodge St. Andrew No.524 for their assistance in our time of need. We would also like to thank our neighbours the British Legion for supplying their premises to enable us to have our Committee Meetings. Thanks also to all the Brethren of the Lodge who assisted in the restoration by utilising their various building skills. As a result of a splendid effort by many Brethren and Friends the Hall was re-opened on Friday 2nd. June 2000 when the Compass Club held a freebie night to use up the fire damaged stock. This gave the Club an opportunity to thank the contractors for their work. |

| At the Annual Installation Saturday October 9th. 1999 Brother A.Ramsay P.M. Lodge Lewis Whitehaven No. 872 English Constitution , introduced by P.M. D.A.Reid R.W.S.P.G.M. Renfrewshire East, formally presented a new Douglas Standard. Brother A. Cleland I. P.M. had presented Deacons Rods during his term as R.W.M. and both were dedicated by Provincial Chaplain, Brother W.Shirlaw. They were subsequently paraded by the Deacons and Standard Bearer accompanied by the Piper playing "Highland Cathedral". |
